Ange Postecoglou Exhibits Anger at Sky Sports Reporter Questioning About Failed Tactics in Tottenham's Chelsea Defeat
Tottenham
's manager, Ange Postecoglou, let loose his frustration at a Sky Sports reporter after being questioned about his halftime directives during Tottenham's 2-0 loss to Chelsea. Postecoglou targeted his players' mentality following a woeful performance at Chelsea. Observing Tottenham unravel at Chelsea, an infuriated Postecoglou conceded they have more significant issues than their defense against set-pieces.

Postecoglou scrutinized his players' state of mind after a dreadful display at Stamford Bridge. The Spurs boss didn’t hold back his displeasure, visibly upset on the sideline. Despite being ravaged by injuries, Chelsea seized two set-piece opportunities with headers from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson, causing a third consecutive Premier League loss for Tottenham, who are now struggling to secure fourth position above Aston Villa.
Accepting accountability on behalf of his players, Postecoglou said: “It is on me to fix it. We had bigger issues tonight than set pieces. We lacked belief and conviction in our game. I don't know if it is low confidence but we are not playing with the mindset we need to play the football we want to. It wasn't good enough, and I have to take responsibility for that.”

When asked about the message he was trying to impart, Postecoglou hit back: “Come on mate, we didn't play well, do you want me to write you a dossier of where it went wrong?”
Regarding the decision to bench James Maddison, Postecoglou admitted: “Fair to say it didn’t work.”

He didn’t shy away from expressing his frustration at halftime, losing his temper on the touchline and criticizing players like Pape Matar Sarr and Cristian Romero for their backwards passing.
On the other hand, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, especially praising the efforts of academy graduates like Alfie Gilchrist, Conor Gallagher, and Chalobah. "For me, it was the best game,” Pochettino said. “It is the most happy I am afterwards."
